He received his early dance training from his mother, Betty Wright, and Jack Copeland before gaining extensive ballet training at the Joffrey School in New York City and the Pacific Northwest Ballet School in Seattle WA.
In his professional dance career, Mr. Wright has danced with The New Mexico Ballet Company, Indianapolis Ballet Theater, Minnesota Ballet Theatre, Ballet Oklahoma, Colorado Ballet, Ballet Austin, as well as all three Joffrey companies. He has also taught ballet and performed at Indiana University where he holds a BS with honors in Music and English Literature.
In recent years, Mr Wright has performed as a Guest Artist with the Central Indiana Dance Ensemble in such roles as: Drosselmeyer from the “Nutcracker”; Dr. Coppelius from “Coppelia”; and Carabosse in the “Sleeping Beauty”.
At the Fox Hill Dance Academy, Steven co-founded the Fox Hill Dance Foundation to help support underprivileged children with dance lessons.
Most recently, Steven has become an ABT® Certified Teacher, who successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.
Jeanne Wade was a member of the Forty-Second Street Dance Company (Directed by Betty Wright) and has studied dance at the Fox Hill Dance Academy, as well as, several other local dance studios during the past thirty years. Jeanne's performing experience includes; the Will Rodger's Follies (Civic Theater), Snow Ball (Belfry Theater), Special Olympics, Peace Games, Nuvo Celebration, Indiana State Fair, 500 Festival, Governor's Conference, Buck Creek Players, and others. Jeanne is thrilled to be a member of our staff again and to teach intermediate children's tap. She is a Certified Dance Instructor by Dance & Gym USA. In her spare time, Jeanne is SR Vice President of Union Savings Bank.
Jeanine Wright started dance training at age 3-1/2 and was a five-time regional and national dance champion. She competed with a gymnastic team for eight years. Jeanine was in “A Chorus Line” at both Beef-n-Boards dinner theatre and the Indianapolis Civic Theatre. She was an extra in a movie filmed in Indianapolis called “Diving In.” Jeanine has a Bachelors Degree from Ball State University where she studied dance. She is a member of the Fox Hill Dance Company.
